Many are sheltering as the Easterly wind whips up the powdery snow across the meadow....
but closer to the ground there is activity as a Water rail investigates a resting Lapwing...
the Lapwing carries on resting ....
while the Water rail finds a meal under some logs...
and a pair of Moorhens scratch at the edge of the path...
