As floodwater fills the meadows today, flocks of Pied Wagtails enjoy tasty morsels...

and Redwings are in abundance too...

And on Boxing day, a female Tufted Duck was skulking on the river...

while a Greenfinch is basking in some sunshine on the back hedge...

A dull and breezy Christmas Day meant many birds were sheltering but the Redwing here was watching out for worms in the grass below his branch...

as was the Robin...

A Meadow Pipit striding out on this snowy morning...

and others searching for food included a Song Thrush...

a Stonechat...

a Goldfinch...

and a Pied Wagtail on the frozen pool...

A not so common, Common gull (right) standing with a black headed gull on the half frozen pool this morning...

while a Buzzard scours the meadow for food ...

What a gift today on this bright cold morning - the sight of a Kingfisher fishing on the riverbank...

and a Heron gliding over the river...

With much clearing going on by volunteers and sheep, the magpies can be seen scavenging across the meadow and scrape at present...

and with leaves falling from the trees there is more chance of seeing the Tree Creeper going up the trunks of the trees round the carpark... but I actually spotted this one at nearby Croome Court yesterday ...

A Swan 'making way' through the duckweed that is covering the main pool at present...

The Stonechats have returned for the winter... a male ...

and a female...

while a busy Blue tit drops his dinner...

Today a Sparrowhawk is dozing on the back fence after a meal... but with one eye open!

And today ... the Green Woodpecker briefly stops and shows the back of his head...

while the Kestrel dominates the recently cleared scrape area...

The Kingfisher was fishing from a favourite spot by the main pool today...

and a number of butterflies were enjoying the sunshine including this one...

The back hedge is a riot of colour (and fruit)...

and a common darter dragonfly hovers over the surface of the main pool which is covered in green duckweed...

Autumn is here and a Comma butterfly was sunbathing on some blackberries today...

while a Speckled Wood Butterfly sits camouflaged on the wood chip path...

Eye to eye with a male Common Blue butterfly along the back path today...

A Peacock butterfly having a rest on the recently mown hay on the meadow...

and there are pink and purple flowers everywhere you look...

Delights of the day...

but a Heron plays, 'I'm the king of the castle'...

and a delicate Holly Blue butterfly suns itself on the path...
