Seven became four...



Meanwhile, two cheeky young starlings are keeping a lookout to see where their next meal is coming from...


and on Friday there was an invasion of people counting everything from dawn until dusk... and later!


but some of us are just busy feeding our young - this is Mrs Moorhen with one of her new brood....


oh and if there are not enough yellow flowers with all the field buttercups.... the irises have just started coming out too!

Some other birds that seem to be hanging around on the big back hedge by the pool...

The pool is filling up nicely with the rain we've been having ....


there are a few greenfinches on the back hedge...



as well as beautiful pink hawthorn blossom....



and the meadows are awash with colour....

I seem to be down to five cootlets....


The coots at the other end of the pool is now up to five.....


One of the mallard families has six little ducklings....


And the sedge warblers are doing lots of singing and trilling!!...
